We always suspected that Norway’s King Harald V is kind of a douche.
And now we have the proof.
According to an article in the amazingly-named Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, as translated by the UK’s Gamezine, the King has officially denied the formal request of a 6-year-old kid named Christer who wanted to honor a heroic hedgehog by legally changing his name to Sonic X.

Despite the boy’s noble plea, the so-called King is claiming that young Sonic X (we’re honoring the artist formerly known as Christer’s name change even if the suspiciously-similarly-named Harald V won’t) is forced to wait until he’s 18 to change his own name.
Nice try, “King,” but we’ll see you in 2021, the year your kingdom falls, and Norway embraces its new leader, 18-year-old King Sonic X. And until that time comes, we’ll be here in the U.S., waiting… and watching.
