Nintendo Gameboy turned 20 years old this month. Hard to believe that our little buddy is finally all grown up. And totally out of date.
But think back to 1989, when Nintendo promised “portable power” and “the revolutionary video link” that made Gameboy so fresh and new. “Plus,” the commercial promised, “Gameboy comes with the outrageous new game Tetris!” The emphasis the announcer puts on the word outrageous is pretty outrageous in and of itself when you think about how little outrage Tetris has inspired over the last two decades.
