It’s Official – SEGA Fans Are Crazy

Tuesday June 30, 2009 4:56 AM

If you don’t have a bad case of whatever the dude in Memento had, you probably remember that last Tuesday was Sonic the Hedgehog’s birthday.

But did you know that a group of hardcore SEGA fans decided to send the company a care package full of birthday presents?

That’s right, weird Sonic masks, Chao plushies, and the obligatory fan art was included in a box that looks like it was decorated by a a group of enthusiastic 5-year-olds.

Okay, so those Chao plushies are pretty cool – but what did these fans think the SEGA employees were gonna do with those Sonic masks? Wear them around the office for rings and giggles?

We think this kind of stuff is cool, but don’t understand the logic behind thanking a company that you probably spend all of your money on by purchasing them gifts.

If anything, these fans deserve to get something back from SEGA … although the execs might want to be careful with these fans: if they’re this enthusiastic over a fictitious video game character’s birthday, who knows what they’ll do if they spot a live creator?

Wait, we do know, and it requires a new pair of pants.
